External applications

For each highlighter (ie, for each file type or 'environment') you can set up to 5 external applications. Shortcut keys are automatically defined for the first 3. These are F9, Alt-F9 and Shift-F9 respectively.
Application List
This is the list of defined External applications for this file type. You can change the order in which they appear using the buttons on the right hand side of the list. To delete or modify an entry in the list highlight it and use the relevant button under list. To add an entry to the list you must supply a name and a path to an application before you can press the 'Add' button.
This value will be displayed when you select 'File|Open with Program ...' or press the External Applications button on the tool bar.
Program name including path and parameters. The command line can include a number of variables. Right mouse click will display a menu used to insert variables. See the entry on Compiler and External Program Variables for more information.
LOG file:
If a path to a LOG is specified the external program is executed and any output is captured and sent to the LOG file. Once execution of the program is complete the LOG file is displayed. This means that if a LOG file is specified PSPad will be unavailable for use until the External Program execution is complete. If no LOG file is specified control returns to PSPad immediately. You can use variables in the LOG file entry.
